Winter Recreation
Traversing the two-mile Mirror Lake Skating loop on ice skates makes for a great way to stay warm on a chilly winter's day. If you'd like to venture even further from town, Lake Placid boasts numerous woodland snowshoe and cross-country ski trails, and complimentary snowshoes can be borrowed from the High Peaks Resort Guest Services desk. However, you make our High Peaks your own, you're sure to warm up in front of a crackling fire with a hot chocolate or a Hot Toddy at Dancing Bears Restaurant.
Summer Recreation
Mirror Lake is a spectacular natural wonder to take in during a visit to Lake Placid year-round, so naturally, playing on Mirror Lake is heralded by guests as a must during a stay at High Peaks Resort. In the summer, use our complimentary paddling equipment, including kayaks, rowboats, stand-up paddleboards, and paddleboats to glide along its calm surface as the sun comes up, or paddle off into the sunset after a day of Adirondack adventures. Stay in the Waterfront Collection and step right outside onto the lake or enjoy the view from your private balcony.

Enjoy a complimentary 1-hour vinyasa flow class Saturdays this winter at 8 AM. Start your winter weekend with a warm vinyasa flow to warm up the body, mind and heart. Wake up not only your physical body with an energetic flow to the themed playlist, but find your higher Self as you practice patience and surrender to stillness. We end with a rewarding Savasana that will leave you with a genuine peaceful feeling to take with you throughout the rest of your stay.
