Lake Placid Sinfonietta
The Lake Placid Sinfonietta, known as the Orchestra of the Adirondacks, is set to enchant audiences during its 2025 season from July 9 to August 17. Under the baton of Music Director Stuart Malina, this professional chamber orchestra comprises twenty distinguished musicians from across the nation. The season features a variety of performances, including the Symphony Series at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and the free Park Series concerts at Mid's Park in downtown Lake Placid. Each concert in the Park Series offers a unique theme, such as "American Landscape" on July 9 and "En Plein Air" on August 13, providing attendees with diverse musical experiences.
In addition to the Lake Placid performances, the Sinfonietta extends its reach through the Adirondack Series, bringing concerts to neighboring communities. Highlights include a free children's concert at Saint Agnes School on July 18, an evening performance at Tannery Pond Center in North Creek on July 24, and a community concert at Hotel Saranac in Saranac Lake on August 7. These initiatives underscore the Sinfonietta's commitment to making classical music accessible to a broader audience, fostering cultural enrichment throughout the Adirondack region.
